WizardCAD
Parametric 3D CAD, simulation and manufacturing in one lean app
Model exact solids, check them with built-in analysis, document them and send them to the shop, all on your own computer.
What it is good at
From sketch to finished part, without leaving the program.
Exact solid modeling
A boundary-representation kernel with extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, fillet, chamfer, shell, hole wizard, patterns and boolean operations, plus direct editing of imported solids.
Constrained sketches
A variational solver keeps your 2D sketches fully defined as you add dimensions and relations.
Assemblies and motion
Mates including gear, rack-and-pinion and screw, interference detection, exploded views and a motion study.
Built-in analysis
Structural and modal analysis, fluid-flow simulation and a manufacturability check before you commit to tooling.
Drawings and manufacturing
Drawing sheets with standard views, sections, GD&T and bills of materials; sheet-metal flat patterns for DXF; and 3-axis toolpaths with G-code output.
Share without installs
Export a single interactive 3D file that anyone can orbit, section, explode and measure in a web browser, on a phone or a PC.
Private by design
Your designs stay on your computer, it works offline, and the native file format is open JSON.
Natural language and voice
Ask for the operation instead of hunting for the menu.
A command bar that understands plain English
Type what you want to do, such as "Extrude 25 mm" or "Box 50 30 20", and the command bar performs the operation.
Dictate commands, offline
Speak your command instead of typing it. Voice recognition runs on your computer, and the app shows when it is ready.
Scripting
Repeat and extend your work.
C# scripting console
Script the model with C# for parametric families, batch changes and checks.
Help and learning
Made for people moving from other CAD programs, and for people new to CAD.
Familiar controls
Middle-mouse rotate, pan and fit; numbered standard views; a pop-up shortcut HUD; and a top-to-bottom feature tree with a rollback bar.
F = fitTutorials and guides
Built-in tutorial cards, a quick-start guide, a CAD-concepts primer, a keyboard-shortcut reference and a full user manual.
Guided tutorials that check the part
Help > Interactive Guided Tutorials builds real parts step by step: aerospace drone motor mount, the Woodland Wizard, and the Pegasus Knight (horse) chess piece starting from the 2D sketch and working to the complete 3D model. Each step is checked against the model; a step that did not work stays put and says why, and the tutorial only finishes as complete when every step was confirmed.
A page on learning WizardCAD
The documentation center (F1) starts with a guide to the tutorials and hints for learning the app quickly.
F1Part of the WizardForge suite
WizardCAD stands on its own, and it was built to cooperate with the other WizardForge apps.
Open and run every app from one window
The WizardForge launcher shows each app as a card with its version and license status. Launch any of them with a click or a double-click, jump straight into a recent file, see which ones are running, and install or remove apps.
Send content between apps Coming
A shared exchange layer lets the apps pass vector (SVG), image (PNG) and solid-model (STEP) content to one another by type. It will appear as a "Send to" menu in each app.
The same habits everywhere
A command bar, built-in help, undo and redo, and the License window follow the same pattern in each app, so learning one helps with the next.
One subscription for all four
The WizardForge Suite covers WizardDraw, WizardCAD, WizardMasteryCanvas and WizardRas on the same computers.
Several apps inside one window Coming
Today each app opens in its own window and the launcher keeps them together. Hosting them inside a single WizardForge window is on the roadmap.
