WizardGames

More than thirty puzzle, card, board and Mahjong games, with hints and solvers

Letter, number, logic and classic games for a quick break or a long evening, and a computer opponent when you want one.

What is inside

Familiar games, done well.

Word and number puzzles

Letter Hues, Domino Zones, Sudoku and more, with hints and solvers when you are stuck.

Classic card and board games

More than thirty games in all, including chess and backgammon against the computer.

Mahjong, four ways

Mahjong solitaire in two versions (Chinese rules on the classic Turtle board, English rules on the Pyramid board; match pairs of free tiles, and every deal can be won), and four-player Mahjong against three computer players under either Chinese rules (faan, three needed to win) or English rules (points that double). Each has a coach that says what to do next, hints that explain why, a line listing the tiles that would finish your hand, and scoring explained line by line.

4 games

Chinese or English tiles

Choose the writing on every Mahjong tile: traditional Chinese characters (五萬, 東, 中) or English words and numbers (5 CHAR, EAST, RED). The game is the same either way, and the choice is remembered.

Style

Detailed cards and pieces

Eight card decks with royal portraits on the kings, queens and jacks, moulded suit symbols and an ornate ace, and thirteen chess and checkers sets, from plain flat pieces to carved characters: Egyptian camels and a jackal-headed god, Greek heroes and winged horses, a fellowship against a dark tower, and an animal kingdom. The Style menu opens on the part that fits the game you are playing, and your choice is remembered.

Style

Chess with a coach

Play White against the computer at Easy, Normal or Hard. Castling, en passant and pawn promotion are all supported, a move log keeps score, and Undo takes a move back.

Hints that explain

Press Hint at any time to see the coach's recommended move and a short tactical explanation.

Your own games bar

Pin your favorite games to a bar along the top, and check your Stats and a Strategy guide whenever you like.

Your look

Choose a theme to match how you like your screen.

Eight card decks, thirteen piece sets

Press Style to change how the playing cards look in every card game (Classic, Classy, Gothic, Silly, Creatures, Neon, Ocean and High contrast) and how the chess and checkers pieces look (Classic, Classy, Gothic, Silly, Creatures, Neon, Wood, Egyptian, Fellowship, Greek myth, Animal kingdom, Simple and High contrast). Each choice shows a live preview, and the game remembers it.

Style

Natural language and voice

Play, learn and ask the coach in plain words.

Voice and typed moves

Make your moves by typing or speaking: "Knight to f3", "Castle kingside", "Four of hearts", or "Place 9 in row 3 column 4".

Ctrl+K

Ask your AI coach

Ask tactical questions whenever you want advice: "Why was that a blunder?", "What is my biggest threat?", or "Show the best move".

Step-by-step solver explanations

Ask the solver to demonstrate the deduction process step by step without giving away the entire solution.

Command palette

Switch card decks, piece sets, board themes, or start new puzzle challenges from one prompt.

Ctrl+K
